Members and visitors from other Institutes enjoying the evening
|
“A night to be remembered”
is possibly the best way to describe Crossgar’s visitors night on May 9th. Members and their guests from Ardglass, Ballywalter, Gilnahirk, Killinchy, Killyleagh, Moneyreagh, Saintfield and Spa, institutes were treated to a whirlwind tour down memory lane by Mrs Fiona Cromie.
During her talk called ”learning to look is fun”, she whisked us from country to country as far apart as South Africa and Japan, illustrating her anecdotes with apparel and memorabilia from her many travels.
After this interesting and very humorous life-story, a delicious supper was enjoyed by all. |

The birthday girls were, Florrie Maude from Crossgar and Elizabeth Moore from Saintfield.
Sheila McKee, Eileen Smith and Ann Bell came first, second and third in the competition for “A Hair Decoration”.
The following presentations were made;
A salver to Frances Price for her watercolour
A salver to Rhona Niblock for her flower arrangement
A cup to Sheila McMurray for her cheesecake
The evening concluded with the singing of the Countrywoman’s song. |
