The Lord
Mayor and Lady Mayoress arriving at the opening of the Show |
The show took place on
Saturday and Sunday 15th and 16th September. The Crossgar Team left
early to ensure that all the entries arrived on time and were displayed to
best effect. As always competition in each of the categories was stiff and
a lot of work had gone into preparing the items being submitted to the
detailed scrutiny of the judges.
Crossgar can claim some
considerable success as you can see below. However, it must be said that
this page does not attempt to provide a detailed record of all the
Crossgar entries and results - only some of the entries are highlighted.
Apologies to anyone who's hard work is not featured! |

The theme for
this category was "Ode to Autumn" conjuring up memories of the poem by John Keats
containing the famous line "Season of mists and mellow
fruitfulness".
A combined effort of several of the members the entry was "highly
commended". Only 7 points separated the top 4 entries.
Mary McMurray's
Tea Cosy and Irene Deboy's pot of chutney were judged 2nd overall. The
Wheaten loaf was produced by Lily Gabbie and Rhona Niblock produced the
flower arrangement and looked after the layout and presentation.
