Belfast Autumn Flower Show 2002

The show took place on Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd September in the Botanical Gardens, Belfast. It was a beautiful autumn morning with bright sunshine breaking through as the Crossgar Team left early to ensure that all the entries arrived on time and were displayed to best effect. A lot of hard work had gone into preparing their entries and everyone was anxious to make sure that nothing had been left to chance.

By 12.30 pm the judging was complete and the show opened to the public when we discovered that Crossgar had again made its mark with a 3rd place overall in the theme category which this year was based on "a birthday party" consisting of a flower arrangement, 4 small cakes, a crotched doily, a birthday card and cheese straws which brought together the combined effort of several members.

Mrs Nora Lennon baked the 4 small cakes which were awarded 2nd place, the crocheted doily by Irene Deboys was awarded 3rd place and the floral arrangement by Rhona Niblock also took 3rd place.
